James Vernor creates these pendants in his Minneapolis studio. Using a torch, he heats tubes of glass and pushes air into the heated tubes to form a light bulb shape. Next, he heats rods of colored glass and hand draws designs onto the bulb. The entire product is then heated enough with the torch to "collapse" the design into itself, creating the three dimensional look and the pendant shape. A loop is created from a rod of glass to finish the design. The themes are inspired by flowers, and what you might find on a coral reef under the sea.
