This page shows an exciting assortment of jewelry that incorporates OPAL, an October birthstone (along with tourmaline)! This is a lovely iridescent gemstone with internal colors that can glimmer like fire through a translucent stone. Opals can be near white to blue, black and orange. Doublets and triplets are thin opal slices bonded to a matrix and sometimes covered with quartz, which helps in the durability of this softer stone. No other enhancements are common.
